For reference, from this kit I was able to fill three 17-oz bottles, as shown in my photo.My family has been sick on and off since the beginning of the school year and we’ve received the dreaded “chronically absent” letters already. And, it’s only December. In an effort to boost our immune systems, I started looking for elderberry syrup supplies. I usually put together my own but while perusing Amazon, I found this DIY kit. It was more cost effective than buying each item individually and it was next day arrival. I ordered it and as promised, it arrived next day.I’ve made elderberry syrup many times before and it’s always gone to waste because none of us can stomach the taste. But, this stuff tastes fantastic. My suggestion is to find quality local raw honey, which makes all the difference. I used a wild rose honey with a light, floral note. In my opinion, it compliments but doesn’t overpower the flavors of the herbs & spices. It still does have a medicinal flavor but the flavor far outweighs all of the gross OTC “immune boosting” supplements. I use a measuring shot glass and just down it like a shot. My children were asking for more right after tasting it so I’d say that’s a huge win.Time will tell if it does indeed help our immune systems. But, I do recognize that it must also be paired with proper nutrition & sleep, which our busy family has sorely neglected this year.
