My first waffle machine and wanted the best chance of everything working well. I used Golden Malted Premium Grid Conditioner and Golden Malted Original waffle mix and boom, identical to hotel waffles. I mean you couldn't tell the difference. The grid conditioner is probably pretty important as I heard that regular oil spray can build up and ruin your waffles when you remove them. I don't know if it is a trick but be sure to use exactly one measured cup of mix in the machine for a full waffle and 4 minutes. I wish the timer was back lit and a bit bigger but no stars off. Like that there's no thermostat. It's already dialed in for the best results with above method. I will try Krusteaz next time to compare because it's pretty expensive to buy the Golden Malted. It may be worth it, time will tell.
