I have to start out by admitting that I'm one of those who came looking for Iron after having seen the Assassin's Creed Revelations trailer. I was absolutely taken with Iron and was curious about what other songs this artist or band had put out. I was pleasantly surprised as the whole EP is well worth a listen. Yoann Lemoine is Woodkid. He is a Frenchman who also directs music videos and movies. His credentials aside, Iron EP is absolutely amazing. His voice is different but addicting and the way in which he composes the songs is completely unique...I haven't heard anything like it.Iron - in particular is composed of deep bass and Horns that permeate throughout. Then you have Yoann's voice that adds a very distinct tone that both fits and yet contrasts with the rest of the instruments.Brooklyn - is a lot softer and has a mellow guitar throughout. Very soothing.Baltimore's Fireflies - piano holds you on the tips of your toes as horns lead you along the melodic path.Wasteland - has both a bluesy and hip hop type piano with a beautiful string melody throughout.Two Iron remixes finish off the EP and are both worth the price.Overall I highly recommend this EP and am looking forward to a full album release with eager anticipation.
