This is a phenomenal album, absolutely essential to anybody just getting into folk/viking metal. I got this album is the midst of a series of similar purchases, and it quickly rose to the top of the pile. If you're the type who likes to download a sample song before buying, I'd recommend as stand out tracks Sword Chant and Lost in Despair.For those of you who already have the original release, the Battery cover is cool but may or may not be worth a new purchase. I mean, it is just one song after all.The song writing here is extremely well-though-out and impressive. Often times, Viking/Folk metal bands have songs that sound the same, however, this is not the case with Ensiferum's "Iron". Jari's singing is excellent on this release, and the guitar playing is very clean and well-toned as well.My personal favorites are "Iron", "Into Battle", and "LAI LAI HEI" (probably my favorite solo from any Ensiferum song).One of three different titles feature the amazing vocals of Jari Maenpaa, this one does not dissappoint. Fans of Wintersun and the self-titled Ensiferum disc will love this one. It's very easy to sit back and enjoy the entire cd without skipping a single song.Amazing folk metal from some of the masters of the genre. Highly recommended!Other than 'Tears' every song on this album is fantastic.This is probably the best album in the "viking metal" or whatever sub-genre. Excellent mix of speed, technicality and melody.I had the chance to see Ensiferum live...AWESOME. They played a couple tracks off this album perfectly. The only thing better than this CD is seeing them live!awesome!Only warning is on a poor audio system it will sound really wrong in some regards.Schlicht immer noch DAS beste Album von Ensiferum und schlicht DER Maßstab der Dinge, wenn es um epische, tragende, packende, kraftvolle, brachiale, melodische, metallische Pagan / Viking Musik überhaupt geht.Was muss noch mehr gesagt werden, wenn Fans ein solches Video dazu schneiden?[...]Nur in der wall of death / im moshpit wirken die Songs von Iron noch besser.Damit ist wirklich alles über die herausragende Qualität dieses Albums gesagt.Ein wahres must-have.Und das Booklet ist auch cool.Hier kann man Jari's Handschrift deutlich erkennen und den Unterschied zu den späteren Alben hören...
