I like Gaia & have used their supplements successfully before.You should know this is not labeled Non GMO or Organic.So why pay $17 for 8.5 oz at time of post, when your grandma's Geritol is half the price?Geritol did not come up on my Amazon search, at all, looking for iron supplements.I stumbled upon it at Walmart picking up a script as, I've entered the wonderful world of Anemia meets Insomnia.At the store a liquid bottle is $8 for 12 oz. (and there was a coupon)When I specifically searched Geritol on Amazon, did find it but, best deal was an add on.The only benefit I can see to Gaia vs Geritol is taste and, it's really not much better.The Gaia has honey to mask the iron taste but it's really the elderberry.And it doesn't cover it. Just tastes like Elderberry flavored iron.If you keep it in the fridge, cold iron is the best to get it down.If I may offer a suggestion?If you're like me & prefer liquid vitamins as they are a thousand times more soluble, therefore more effective than pills, try Garden of Life sprays.I say this strictly for a taste benefit.Iron is better absorbed when accompanied by Vit C,Garden of Life makes a Vit C spray that tastes good.After you've sucked down your shot of the iron of your choice,chase it with a couple squirts of GOL Vit C spray.Tastes better, helps absorption & maybe you help keep a cold away.As far as efficacy, both brands gave significantly better results to my energy when I took 30 min before meal.If you're in my Anemic situation, you know that's a challenge but, the iron will mellow the morning jitters.I was adding it to Ensure shake & still feeling icky.Takes a bit more time but worth the wait for absorption on an empty stomach.Wishing you good health & hope this helpsMy doctor couldn’t recommend this product enough. I put it in my morning smoothie and don’t taste it at all.My doctor recommended this due to my iron defiance, the taste is horrible but if you can get past that I think that its well worth it, I can feel a difference however I go to the doctor in January of 2022 so I will update you on if its helped my iron levels or not.I have struggled with anemia for over a decade. At one point I was taking slow release ferrous sulfate pills twice a day, and they were treating my GI apart. After having kids, iron pills started making me vomit consistently, so I decided to try the liquid iron route since I’d read the side effects were less, and the iron more easily absorbed.I have been taking Gaia herbs liquid iron off and on inconsistently for about a year and a half now. But my iron and ferritin numbers were really low about 4 months ago, as was my energy, so I buckled down and have been taking this 1-2 x/day since then. Within the first 2 weeks of taking it consistently my restless legs improved. I definitely have noticed an improvement in my energy level, particularly when I do a good job of taking it twice a day. Also, my bloodwork numbers have improved!The taste is ok. It’s not my favorite, but I do find it more palatable if I mix with a tiny bit of orange juice. I have not had any trouble with side effects, no constipation, and no vomiting, like the pills caused me to do. Over all, I feel that this iron supplement has been effective and affordable, and has helped me a lot. I plan to continue using it regularly.Disclaimer: I never received this product from Amazon. Thank you Amazon!I did buy this product at a local health food store and wanted to review it because it works so well as an iron supplement! I haven't had issues with nausea while using this product. I take it in the morning without food on my stomach with no negative side effects. I love that there are other natural ingredients in it as well. It's like taking a herb/vitamin shot every morning. The taste is somewhere around grape & licorice, but tolerable and slightly sweet. I actually look forward to taking it every morning! I've definitely noticed an increase in energy levels and a better mood. The bottle when used correctly will last about a month. I've already gone through several bottles with consistent results. I also appreciate the bottles are recyclable glass. 1 point for my health & 1 point for the environment. Love it!
