I use the Iron Fish so I could make my own flavors and not have to take medicine. With me making my own flavors it tastes good, I don't have that bitter after taste. So much better. These little fish are perfect and my roommate loves them. He has a bit of an iron deficiency but supplements make him sick, so these were a good alternative. Since he has started using them he has already started feeling a bit better! They are also cuter in person than pictured.I try to eat a balanced diet but it's not always perfect, plus not eating red meat, has lead me to be low on iron for a number of years. I've tried iron supplements/pills, but they often were had to swallow and irritated my stomach. These adorable fishies seemed like a great idea so I tried them out. I put one in my pot of water each day when I boil it for tea or coffee and it has helped me a lot! You don't taste any difference in the water and my last health checkup showed healthy iron levels! I was so happy it actually worked. Because of the great value, 2 per order, I got a couple extra to give out as giftsThe only reason I did not rate the iron fish a 5 is because I didn't realize you had to combine it with certain things to reap the most benefits. It is not as straightforward as plopping it in whatever you are cooking to get more iron.I have been using this for about a week and a half, and only a few days into using it, started to feel noticeably better. It is easy to use; I use it in conjunction with citrus in my soups for the vit. C to optimize iron absorption. I do have to be careful not to stir it too much against the bottom of my pan, but that's easy enough. I just put it in with the water, and take it out when I'm boxing up my leftovers; wash & dry immediately, oil up with a dot of cooking oil, and toss in the drawer for later use.The only real drawback is that I have taken the string out, because it just seems gross to me to keep a cotton string on a kitchen tool like that, so food does get stuck in the thread hole, but that's easy enough to pop clear.Doesn’t affect the taste and flavor of whatever you dip it in. Is hard to clean just need a brushI put one in my soup to add iron. I don't like the tasteThis fish is super easy to use and no noticable taste difference. I hope that it adds iron to the water and dishes I put it into.Yes you have to maintain them by drying and oiling to prevent rust, and yes they impart iron for those in need of it. My issue however is that they also gave me a very upset stomach and constipation just like iron supplements always seem to do. I bought these because I thought they wouldn't cause GI upset and am disappointed.Easy to use. I add it to boiling water, relatively tasteless, but I can see a slight color change in the water. I think it will take some time to feel energy levels increase, I haven't had it very long.Add it to my soups, does not have flavour. Easy to clean afterwards. Still getting plenty of use out of fish one, saving the second one for next year.So difficult to clean and the taste is so bad but it does do what it’s supposed to do.I make large amounts of ice tea from scratch and added it for 10 minute steep. Tasted fine.
