This style axe, seen in many early paintings and photos, was popular with Prairie and Northern Plains tribes throughout the 1800s. Our authentic replica, with its wide, classic weeping heart piercing, features an 8-1/4" long x 4" wide blade fitted to a finely finished, tack-decorated 24" hardwood handle with a carved, "stair-step" grip. Nice axe, but is not shiny like in the pic. It is rough black iron with many pits. Brass tacks missing from handle, and handle end damaged. Comes wrapped in grease. Will take a lot of work to get it to look like the description photo.
