You know those books that just cause you to go into a serious depression after finishing? Well, The Iron Traitor does just that. If you weren't sure about continuing the series after reading the last Call of the Forgotten book, drop all worries right now. This book is a step up from the last book, which is simply more amazing. At the beginning of the last book, I couldn't stand Ethan, but as the book progressed, I started liking him more and more. In this book, Ms. Kagawa treats us to another side of Ethan that was only just starting to reveal himself at the end of the last book. And trust me, you'll love Ethan by the end of this one (and then shed tears....)This book is full of adventure. Ethan is thrust back into the world of Nevernever, even though it's the very last thing he wants to do. But Kierran is missing, and other things happen that force him back into the crazy world of fighting faeries and other creatures that only Ms. Kagawa has the imagination to create. The originality and uniqueness of this series never ceases to blow me away. I don't know how Ms. Kagawa thought of this series, but I am so happy she did. The writing is wonderful and full of descriptive scenes that jump of the page. One of the things that I loved though was returning to Nevernever. It will always hold a special place in my heart, and I was happy to go back.We see the return of several characters from The Iron Fey Series, which made me longing for more scenes with them, but this is Ethan's story, so it just makes me want to re-read Meghan, Ash, and Puck's story all over again. Kenzie is still one of my favorite characters in this book. She is strong-willed, brave, and wants to live each moment to the fullest. Kenzie doesn't back down and is willing to go to great lengths for Ethan and her new found friends. She's definitely someone to look up to :) I'll warn you now, after this book, you will utterly hate Kierran. I know I do. I have my suspicions about the Lady of the Forgotten, but I was mind blown after the ending of this novel. I have literally no clue what will happen next. All I know is that I need the next book in this series very badly, and want it right this second. So, as you can tell, this book ends on a majorhugeginormous cliffhanger. Ms. Kagawa certainly knows how to make us fans suffer with an ending like that!Overall, this was an amazing addition to the series. Is this series as good as the Iron Fey, no. And I don't think it ever will be. However, comparisons aside, this was an extraordinary book that will please any fan of Ms. Kagawa and the Iron Fey series. With plenty o action, laughs, and tears, The Iron Traitor has it all. Go get this book now! Happy reading :)5+++++ stars
