I have curly hair and have been transitioning for the past two years. I bought this flat iron to save money at the hairdresser. Let me tell you; it's one of my best expenses so far. It leaves my hair soft and straight. I bought two flat iron in the past, Chi, and this flat iron is the best! Get it. You won't regret it.As someone who has fine curly frizzy hair- this was a game changer. I’ve gone through so many hair straighteners trying to find the one that gives me the salon straight look- all of the ones I had used before didn’t give me totally straight hair- it was a little poofy/frizzy and with humidity it looked terrible. Now I’ve found the holy grail and if this ever dies I’m buying a new one. I also used the straightener to curl my hair and it looked so good- I got so many complimentsWife love this item and will definitely buy againWow. My hair is extremely thick and wavy. My husband said I look like a different person. It really looks like Jennifer Anniston hair. It made my hair super sleek. I almost didn't want to spend the money but im glad I did.Works great! I just wish this would clamp down all the way. (There is a slight opening, very small) It gets super hot really fast. I also wish there was a protected area for your fingers when using so your fingers dont burn when clamping the flat iron down due to it not closing all the way. I have to use a cloth to protect my fingers. This works as good as the Chi but probably get hotter.Best straightener I’ve ever usedHeats up fast, has an extra long cord, and my favorite part is it has a regular plug-in, not a big box with a reset button so it fits perfectly in my outlet. Controls frizz. Works great. Only have to make one pass on my hair to get it straight.For the first time in my life, I’ve been able to get right to the scalp for straightening my hair. Makes the roots shiny and everything nice and smooth! Easy to handle because it’s smaller. Definitely recommend ??I had high hopes and was looking forward to using this straightener but was brutally disappointed. I have curly, thick hair (3c type to be exact) and did my research online while reading reviews. There were a handful of mixed feelings from curly girls as well but this was one of the top rated that might suit my hair. I am a university student and $171.00 for a hair straightener is something that I was willing to pay for quality yet the iron did not deliver that whatsoever. I only used it recently, having being home and having the time to straighten my hair, and realizing that it takes longer to heat up than my six year old flat iron, and even then does not reach the same heat as it nonetheless, barely did anything to my hair. I just used it for the first time 2 days ago for about a half hour in which I did a few test sections and reverted to using my old flat iron. Unfortunately it's a few months after I bought it and passed Amazon's 30 day return policy, I am left with a crappy straightening iron and $200 out of my pocket that has much better use elsewhere as a young student. I am completely and utterly disappointed.
